Research Reconnects Elected Officials to Their Constituents

In recent years, research has been pervasive in politics.  While we absolutely reject the idea that political leaders should “lead by focus group,” we also firmly believe that unbiased qualitative research is a unique and invaluable tool for politicians and political groups to understand the public they serve.

Elected officials are buffeted by the demands of special interest groups, and often physically distanced from their constituents by the demands of the job.  Qualitative research can help an elected official reconnect with their constituency, with no layers, no spin.

Standard polling cannot help explain why voters feel as they do, cannot help to articulate all the nuances of complex issues, but focus groups can.

Election Season Research by Candidates

Focus groups can also assist those who aspire to political office to level the playing field with opponents, particularly against incumbents.  At any level, local, Statewide, nationally, focus groups can help candidates for office prepare on the issues and understand the needs and priorities of the electorate.

Issue Research

Focus groups can also help measure the awareness, knowledge and attitudes toward ad hoc issues, e.g., a container port, an open space bond issue, prescription drug programs.
